Highlights from Microsoft’s 50th Anniversary Event

During this milestone event, several innovative features were announced for Copilot. These updates are set to enhance user experience significantly, reflecting Microsoft’s commitment to integrating advanced technology into daily tasks.

Copilot Labs Now Open to All Users

Copilot Labs is now accessible to all users, providing a unique opportunity to test experimental features before they officially launch. You can explore these cutting-edge tools by visiting the Copilot Labs webpage.

Enhanced Shopping Experience

Users in the U.S. can now enjoy a seamless shopping experience through Copilot. When you want to know more about a product, simply click the “View details” button. This action will show:

  • Additional product images
  • Review summary
  • Pros and cons
  • Product specifications
  • Detailed product descriptions

Moreover, Copilot is packed with features to make your buying experience smoother, including:

Filter Interactions

Easily select options from the product page if the item has various colors, sizes, or other attributes.

Buying Options

Check out alternative retailer offers listed on product pages to compare prices without hassle.

Price Insights

View high, low, current, and average prices for any product over the last 13 months.

Streamlined Checkout

Now, users can checkout directly within Copilot for select retailers like eBay, Walmart, and Best Buy.

Recipe Integration with Instacart

Preparing meals has become simpler with Copilot’s Recipe cards feature. You can now buy all your ingredients directly through Copilot by selecting “Shop Ingredients on Instacart” while using the app on iOS devices.

New Voices Available

Copilot has introduced two new voices for you to try: Birch and Rain. These additional options aim to enhance your interaction experience.

Voice Activation on MacOS

For MacOS users, you can activate the Press to Talk feature with a long press of Option + Space. Once activated, you can start speaking with Copilot directly. A short press of Option + Space still opens the Copilot composer. The composer has been optimized to occupy less space, ensuring minimal disruption to your workflow. Users can customize these keyboard shortcuts under Settings > Keyboard shortcuts.

Phone Connection Feature

The new phone connection feature allows Copilot on your PC to link with an Android device. This integration makes it easier to manage everyday tasks like setting alarms, creating reminders, sending messages, and navigating through your day.

Visual Enhancements in Copilot Responses

Copilot’s responses are becoming richer with more visuals. New formats like Weather Cards, Finance Cards, and Sports Cards (covering Baseball, Hockey, and Cricket) are now included. The availability of these enhancements may vary based on the platform you are using.
