Launch of Meta AI and AI Studio in Indonesia

Meta AI and AI Studio Launches in Indonesia

Meta introduced its artificial intelligence (AI) technology to Indonesia last week, unveiling Meta AI and AI Studio. This move comes as the company seeks to integrate AI solutions into its popular social media platforms. "We announced Meta AI’s availability in 2023, and now, users worldwide, including Indonesia, can interact with this technology across our apps," said Revie Sylviana, Meta’s director of Global Partnerships for Southeast Asia. With over 700 million active users globally, Meta AI aims to simplify everyday activities for everyone.

Features of Meta AI

Advanced Technology and Language Support

Meta AI is powered by the advanced Llama 3.2 technology and is now available in Indonesian. Users can easily access the AI assistant through platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, as well as on the Meta AI website. "The updated Meta AI is smarter and more convenient to use," Revie added.

Image Generation with ‘Imagine’

One exciting feature of Meta AI is ‘Imagine’, which allows users to create images quickly by entering a simple text prompt. This feature is designed for creativity and ease of use, making visual content creation accessible to everyone.

AI Studio: A Platform for Creativity

Alongside Meta AI, the company has rolled out AI Studio in Indonesia. This platform empowers users to create and explore AI characters. Several local AI personalities are already available, including Om Gustiono, created by @aldogiustino, and FitBite, developed by culinary creator Andre Sarwono, facilitating interactions between users and these characters.

Enhancements for Marketers and Advertisers

The launch of Meta AI coincides with new AI-driven marketing tools developed by Meta. These innovative features assist brands in identifying suitable Instagram creators for their campaigns. "Creators play a crucial role in influencing purchasing decisions, and 53% of participants stated they are more likely to buy a product endorsed by a creator on Reels," as noted in Meta’s announcement.

Improved Advertising Solutions

Karin Tracy, who leads Retail, Fashion, and Luxury at Meta, mentioned that the advancements in AI allow the advertising system to predict user interests more accurately than the advertisers themselves. The new keyword search feature in the Instagram creator marketplace makes it easier for brands to find creators relevant to their target audience by searching terms like "soccer mums with dogs" or "gluten-free desserts."

New Functionalities for Creator Marketing

Meta has introduced several new functionalities to enhance the Instagram creator marketplace.

Creator Card Feature

With the Creator Card feature, businesses can view relevant content from creators through live Reels without visiting their profiles. Additionally, businesses can contact interested creators directly via email, simplifying initial outreach.

Badges and Profiles

To help identify seasoned creators, Meta has introduced a special badge for those who have previously run collaborative ads. Creator profiles now showcase active collaboration ads, enabling businesses to understand better the content style of each creator and the brands they support.

Partnership Ads for Enhanced Advertisement

Meta has expanded its Marketing API support to include partnership ads. These allow advertisers to collaborate with creators and other brands, presenting a transparent ad header that features both partner accounts. Advertisers can now also utilize Instagram posts for partnership ads more efficiently.

Opportunities and Challenges in the AI-Driven Landscape

Meta’s research indicates that brands using Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns experience an average Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of $4.52. The company claims that partnership ads tend to generate additional purchases more effectively than standard campaigns.

However, the rise of AI-based automation does present challenges. Danny Weisman, head of Planning at Noble People, pointed out that while AI media buying is effective cost-wise, the creative side still requires a diverse set of assets in various sizes and formats, putting pressure on creative agencies.

The Future of Advertising with AI

Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, envisions a future where advertisers will need merely to communicate their goals and budgets, with AI managing the advertising process. Derya Matras, Meta’s VP, emphasized that although AI will enhance efficiency, it will also increase the demand for human creativity and strategic thinking.

Overall, the launch of Meta AI and AI Studio in Indonesia marks a significant advancement in how users interact with AI technology. This initiative not only boosts user engagement but also enhances the advertising potential for local marketers, demonstrating Meta’s commitment to innovation in the digital space.
