Microsoft Aims to Offer Free AI Training to Achieve a World Record

Microsoft is offering free AI lessons aimed at enhancing your skills in writing prompts while simultaneously pursuing a Guinness World Record. Participating not only helps the tech giant achieve its goal but also provides you with valuable knowledge throughout the process.

What Is Microsoft’s Free AI Training All About?

Microsoft has launched a 50-day event called AI Skills Fest that runs from April 8 until May 28, 2025. This event includes a mix of live events, in-person training, self-paced lessons, hackathons, and much more. The offerings cater to all skill levels, making them accessible to everyone from beginners to advanced users.

Learning Opportunities

For those new to AI, introductory classes on essential topics like machine learning and natural language processing are available. Participants can explore Microsoft’s AI tools, including Copilot, Fabric, and Azure. Those already familiar with AI can engage in advanced tutorials and even take part in an AI Agent Hackathon aimed at creating innovative solutions using AI agents.

The courses are offered in over 30 languages, ensuring that both local and international audiences can benefit. Regardless of your current knowledge level, you are likely to find content that is beneficial. The structure allows participants to choose from a variety of lessons, making it easy to tailor their learning experience to their interests.

Course Accessibility

  • Self-paced online courses for flexible learning.
  • Live sessions and hackathons to encourage community collaboration.
  • Advanced training for experienced professionals.
  • Free access to some paid courses during the event, though certification may incur a fee.

AI Skills Fest Challenge Sweepstakes

In addition to the lessons, Microsoft is also hosting the AI Skills Fest Challenge Sweepstake. Entering this offers a chance to win one of 50,000 free certifications. To participate, you simply need to start a qualifying challenge and fill out a registration form. Entries that don’t win in a given week will roll over to the next draw, meaning you only need to enter once for multiple opportunities.

You Can Be Part of a Guinness World Record, Too

A highlight of the AI Skills Fest is Microsoft’s goal to set a Guinness World Record for “the most users to complete an online multi-level artificial intelligence lesson in 24 hours.” This special event is taking place from April 7, 23:00 UTC, to April 8, 23:00 UTC.

Participants can choose from over 30 qualifying sessions, which cover topics like prompt writing, practical applications of generative AI, and building AI agents using Copilot. By registering for and completing a course before the April 8 deadline, you will earn a record attempt badge. It’s worth noting that by entering, you will authorize Microsoft to act as your representative in the Guinness World Records agreement.

By participating in the AI Skills Fest Event world record attempt, I authorize Microsoft to act on my behalf regarding the Guinness World Records agreement and confirm that I have reviewed the applicable terms.

While the attempt at setting a world record may seem like a marketing strategy, participants stand to gain significantly from this training. With AI technology increasingly shaping various industries, engaging in this free training can provide practical skills that are very useful in today’s job market.
