Character.ai’s Response
Character.ai responded to the allegations by indicating that they have removed the chatbots in question for breaching their terms of service. The company emphasized their commitment to creating a safe and engaging environment for users. They stated, “Character.AI takes safety on our platform seriously…The Characters you flagged for us have been removed as they violate our Terms of Service.” Furthermore, they reassured users that they are actively working to prevent similar instances from occurring by enhancing their blocklist to deter the creation of inappropriate characters.
