It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Manus Elliott from Doochary, County Donegal. He left this world peacefully, after a prolonged illness that he faced with remarkable strength and dignity. Surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of the staff at Áras Mhic Shuibhne, Manus left us while in a comfortable and supportive environment.
Early Life and Family
Manus was predeceased by several beloved family members, including his wife Mary, his parents Simon and Rosie, and his brother Paddy. His departure leaves a profound void among those who knew and cherished him. Manus will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his children: Rosemarie, Annette, and Simon.
Legacy of Love
He took great pride in being a grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Enda, Paul, Maria, Cian, Eoin, Katie, and Luke. Manus was a devoted family man, and his influence extended to his sons-in-law Oliver and Liam, as well as his daughter-in-law Mary. He had a large family network, including his brothers Dinny, Connell, Huddie (also known as Hughie), and Columba.
Manus also leaves behind his sisters: Mary, Sarah-Anne, Gracie, and Teresa, along with various brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends who will remember him fondly. His life was rich with relationships that he cherished deeply.
Funeral Arrangements
Family and friends can pay their respects during the following arrangements:
Reposing at Mc Glynn’s Funeral Home: Visitors are welcome today, Sunday, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Rosary service will be held at 7 PM, after which Manus’s remains will be taken to his family home in Doochary.
Reposing at Home: On Monday, the family home will open for visitors starting at 1 PM, with another Rosary service scheduled for 8 PM. Please note that the house will be strictly private until 1 PM to allow the family some time to gather.
- Requiem Mass: The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 1 PM at St. Conal’s Church in Doochary. Following the service, Manus will be laid to rest in the new cemetery, where family and friends can gather to bid him farewell.
